Riyadh-born Hesham Abdul Wahab is having a glorious time in India with a handful of work. The music composer and singer rose to fame after his composition in Hridayam. After the film, there is no looking back for Hesham, who is giving back-to-back hits. Be it Kushi or Hi Nanna, the composer-singer has gained his own niche in Tollywood in very little time with his work.
He is now given tunes for the Sharwanand and Krithi Shetty starrer Manamey. The film, directed by Sriram Aditya and bankrolled by People Media Factory, is all set to hit theatres on June 7. Meanwhile, as part of the movie promotions, Hesham interacted with us, where he spoke about composing music for this movie, which has 16 songs and more.
Now, as soon as Hesham came on board the project, many were wondering if the music in Manamey would be similar to Hi Nanna, and he clarified, “These two are completely different films with separate storylines. There is no comparison between these two films. Manamey has very different emotions in its story. We shouldn’t reveal much about the plot now, but Manamey is a proper commercial film. Making such a different film is a first for me.”
When asked about his musical journey for a film like this, he shared, “When we began the music, we didn’t imagine we would end up with 16 songs. Director Sriram Aditya is very smart. He provided me with ample opportunities to create excellent music for the film. We had composed ten songs by the time the first half was completed. We thought of needing six more songs for the second half. Making 16 songs for a movie is a first for me. Eleven proper song tracks. The rest are dips, bit songs.”
“Personally, I like all the tracks in the movie, and some songs are very close to my heart. This film is a new experience for me, and it will give the audience a new experience,” he added.
Furthermore, speaking about his association with family entertainers, he expressed, “Working on such good projects feels like a blessing. They received a great response from the audience for my music. Now, with Manamey, I have the opportunity to express my complete musical knowledge. I enjoyed working on this project a lot. I worked harder than on my previous projects. I am very confident about the film. We worked for two months on the music. Manamey offers a completely different musical experience. It glues the audience to their seats with songs and background music.”
In short, the composer says, “Manamey is a musical film. It feels like an experiment for me to compose so many songs. The songs narrate the narrative even more wonderfully. They add more value to the movie.”
On the work front, the composer is busy with Rashmika Mandanna’s Girlfriend.
