A woman received obscene videos and texts from an unknown number and was threatened to repay the loan.
Vijayawada Disha police said that the victim (woman) called Disha SOS after receiving obscene videos and messages from an unknown number claiming to be an online loan app administrator threatening to repay the loan amount. However, the woman claimed that she never availed of any loan from any app.
Disha police reached the victim’s location in Vijayawada and collected the details. Police found that the victim’s son clicked the loan app notification a few days ago while playing a video game on her mobile phone. As a result, Rs 2,000 was deposited into the victim’s bank account. On Wednesday, the victim woman who knew nothing of this was being harassed by the loan app administrators.
Police registered a case and are investigating. The police said that they are investigating based on the phone number, loan app, and other technical evidence. Disha Police has assured the victim that strict action will be taken against the administrators of the loan app who are involved in the harassment.
