Woman lecturer stabbed by husband

A woman lecturer was stabbed by her husband on the Arts College campus here on Thursday. The victim is undergoing treatment at the GGH. Police said that the victim Sumangali is working as a lecturer at the Arts College. Her husband went to her college and picked up an argument with her.

Suddenly, he attacked her with a knife and slit her throat. When sher started screaming, some students and lecturers rushed there and found her in a pool of blood. She was immediately shifted to the Government hospital where she is undergoing treatment. After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene.

The incident caused fear among the students and the faculty. The police visited the scene of the offence and registered a case. The relatives of the victim told the media that the victim Sumangali filed a case for divorce. She belongs to Rayadurg town. Previously, she worked at an aided college in Guntur and she was recently transferred to the Arts College, her colleaugues said.
