A gruesome double murder has sent shockwaves through Gannavaram village in Mandavalli mandal of, Eluru district. A 60-year-old woman and her 21-year-old son were found murdered near their residence early on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Royyuru Bhramaramba and her son Suresh, both residents of Gannavaram. According to locals, the two were found dead outside their home, prompting them to alert the police.
Mandavalli Sub-Inspector Ramachandra Rao arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. Eluru DSP Sravan Kumar and CI Ravi Kumar, along with a clues team, conducted a detailed examination. Preliminary findings suggest that the duo was brutally murdered with a knife late on Thursday night.
DSP Sravan Kumar stated that property disputes within the family are suspected to be the motive behind the crime. The bodies were sent to the government hospital in Kaikaluru for post-mortem examination after completing formalities.
The chilling incident has left Gannavaram village in a state of fear and unrest. Police, assisted by sniffer dogs, conducted searches across the village to gather evidence, intensifying the sense of unease among residents. An investigation is going on, and police are working on leads to apprehend the culprits.
