Women are not safe even in the land of Kaali: Vivek Agnihotri

In the light of a recent shameful incident in Bengal, Kerala Files’ filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri took to his social media to reflect on the history of West Bengal. Coincidentally, the teaser for the upcoming Vijay Yelakanti directorial pan-India film denoting the erased history of Bengal titled Maa Kaali, is all set to release tomorrow, starring Raima Sen and Abhishek Singh.
A Muslim woman was stripped naked and assaulted on the streets of Bengal for supporting BJP, over the week, the incident has received attention from the public owing to the viral videos on social media. Tracing the communal violence back to the brutal and horrifying massacres of Direct Action Day, Vivek Agnihotri took to his social media to voice his distress.
Vivek Agnihotri shares, “From Direct Action Day to Noakhali to today… Bengal, the great land of Hindu Renaissance, has been a victim of violence due to two nations and two constitution mindset. Women are not safe even in the land of Kaali. Sad, nobody… nobody… nobody even tried to stop it.”
August 16, 1946 is etched in the pages of history for the haunting genocide, resulted by the motive of demanding a separate Muslim homeland. People Media Factory and Vijay Yelakanti through their film Maa Kaali, aim to shed light on the erased history of Bengal, paying a homage to the lives lost in the massacre.
Vivek Agnihotri, who is known for his film Kashmir Files which depicted the untold story of the atrocities subjected to Kashmiri Pandits, has raised his voice to address the concerns of Hindus in Bengal, the religious influence on the socio-political environment, and the history of the communal turmoil of the state.
Starring Raima Sen and IAS officer turned actor Abhishek Singh, Maa Kaali delves into the pivotal events of pre-partition Bengal.
The teaser of the film is scheduled to be launched on July 4, and the film is slated to release this year.
