In the NTR district, efforts are underway to empower women economically through various government schemes aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and income generation. On Wednesday, an expo and brainstorming conference on women-led industries was held at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada, jointly organised by the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and NTR District Rural Development Agency (DRDA).
District Collector Dr G Srijana emphasised the importance of women leveraging government schemes to become entrepreneurs and improve their economic status. During the event, various business models were showcased, including agricultural drones, drip irrigation sprinklers, mini rice mills, catering units, and sweetpop units. Detailed information on unit costs, available loans from banks, subsidies, and other financial aspects were provided to women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
The conference aimed to raise awareness on government schemes, application procedures, and the process of setting up units. Collector Srijana highlighted the crucial role of disseminating accurate information to ensure the schemes reach their intended beneficiaries effectively. She underscored the responsibility of creating awareness about these opportunities.
