Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has said that Rs 12.80 crore worth of development works will be carried out in the Atmakur constituency. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for them, he added.
The Minister visited some of the areas in Atmakur which is his constituency on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Atmakur was upgraded as a municipality during his tenure as an MLA.
“The drinking water supply scheme will be taken up in Atmakur at a cost of Rs 9.04 crore under the Amrit scheme. An amount of Rs 22.81 lakh was sanctioned to carry out de-siltation works in drainage canals in Atmakur town,” he stated.
If the drinking water project was completed, there would be no water scarcity in Atmakur in the next 20 years, he announced.
The Minister said that Rs 3.18 crore was sanctioned for the construction of a sewage treatment plant in the town. All the works would be taken up soon, he said, adding that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for some of the development works in the town soon.
Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy announced that BC Gurukula School was granted to Atmakur town, adding that the school will be updated as a junior college later.
He also assured of taking steps to widen two main roads from Anjaneyaswamy temple, developing a walking track, constructing road dividers and central lighting system in the Atmakur town.
