The YSRCP leaders on Tuesday complained to the State Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena regarding the enrolment of Telangana voters in Andhra Pradesh violating Section 17 of the Representation of People Act, 1950, as no person shall be entitled to be registered in the electoral roll for more than one constituency. The YSRCP leaders Minister Meruga Nagarjuna, Government Whip Lella Appireddy, MLA Malladi Vishnu, and others submitted a representation to the Electoral Officer against the TDP for enrolling Telangana voters in AP.
On this occasion, Lella Appireddy lashed out at Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar former SEC. He criticized Ramesh Kumar, who is an intellectual under the guise of an ex-IAS officer, as the secretary of an organization called Citizen for Democracy, and is acting against democracy and against the constitution. The former SEC was working as a TDP activist under the guise of an IAS officer and dared to remove the mask and work with a TDP. If you have guts and courage, talk about Chandrababu’s illegal activities, said Appireddy. He alleged that everyone knew how many irregularities Nimmagadda committed while working as Election Commissioner and recalled how he worked in favor of TDP. He asked Chandrababu to answer about the irregularities related to the registration of voters in Hyderabad.
Minister Meruga Nagarjuna said that Chandrababu is good at managing systems. He said that those who voted in Hyderabad are ready to vote in AP which is not good in democracy. He informed that under the leadership of Chandrababu in Pragati Nagar in Hyderabad, new voter registration is being done through a special drive for voters in AP. For this, TDP leader Chandrababu explained that banners are being tied in Pragathi Nagar, Hyderabad and registration is being done. Chandrababu, who is an opportunist, is accused of doing this intentionally. The Election Commission should give special instructions to the Collectors not to allow o vote in AP those who voted in Telangana.
MLA Malladi Vishnu said that TDP is resorting to illegal activities by bringing people who are not from AP and enrolling them here as voters which is against the rules and unconstitutional. He asked the Election Commission to stop these illegal activities and instruct all officials to be vigilant and protect democracy.
