Former minister and TDP senior leader, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, has levelled serious allegations against CS Jawahar Reddy, accusing him of orchestrating unjust appointments favouring chosen IAS officers.
Addressing the media on Saturday, Rao claimed that under Reddy’s tenure, the electoral counting process statewide could face disruptions. He further alleged a concerted effort by the CS and YSRCP leaders to exploit land belonging to the economically disadvantaged in Bhogapuram, potentially worth thousands of crores, before the announcement of election results. Rao asserted that the recent visit by the CS to Bhogapuram airport was purportedly under the guise of inspection. Rao accused Jawahar Reddy of managing the IAS recruitment notification process discreetly, expressing concern over the lack of transparency in appointments. He questioned the sudden reduction in notification deadlines and the inclusion of names from previous lists, calling for accountability from the CS. Rao implied that these actions were driven by a desire to curry favour with CM Jagan, urging the Chief Election Commissioner to intervene. Chandrababu Naidu, he mentioned, had lodged complaints with various authorities regarding the matter.
Highlighting the case of Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, Rao criticised alleged interference in legal proceedings and urged the CS to report such incidents to the Election Commission promptly.
Rao further accused ruling party leaders of colluding to appropriate 2000 acres of land using GO 596, implicating the Chief Minister’s family members, Vijayasai Reddy’s relatives, and YV Subba Reddy’s relatives in the land grab.
The TDP leader condemned purported violence by YSRCP supporters during elections, insisting that TDP had demanded re-polling in affected areas. He criticized YSRCP leaders for deflecting blame onto the courts rather than addressing electoral misconduct.
In light of these allegations, Rao called for immediate intervention from the Election Commission and urged relevant authorities to respond to these concerns promptly.
