YSRCP suffers blow as MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy quits

The ruling YSRCP has suffered another major blow as its Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy has quit the party.
Srinivasulu Reddy announced his decision of quitting the YSRCP while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday. He said that his family has been in politics for 34 years and people have been extending their support.
He has taken a decision in unavoidable circumstances to quit the YSRCP, the Ongole MP announced.  “My son Magunta Raghava Reddy will contest from Ongole Lok Sabha constituency in the forthcoming election,” he disclosed.
“We have a special affection and association with the people of the region. I have been elected to Lok Sabha for 8 times and one time to Legislative Council during  the last 33 years,” he stated and claimed that the Magunta family has created a brand for itself in the district.
“The present happenings are painful. My family wants respect. We can not exist where we are not respected. I am quitting the YSRCP with great pain. I will explain the future plans of mine soon,” Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy said.
Meanwhile, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy’s resignation from the party created commotion in the YSRCP. So far five YSRCP Lok Sabha members including Vallabhaneni Balashowry (Machilipatnam), Sanjiv Kumar  (Kurnool), Lavu Sri Krishnadevaraya (Narasaraoet) Raghu Ramakrishna Raju (Narasapuram), Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and one Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy have quit the YSRCP.
