One person was killed and another suffered was wounded in a shoot-out at Venkateswara Swamy temple in Pulivendula on Tuesday. A financial dispute is said to be the reason for the incident.
Police said that the accused Bharat Kumar Yadav shot dead Dilip (35) and wounded Mohammad Basha with his licensed revolver over a financial dispute. Dilip and Mohammad Basha collapsed in a pool of blood and the local people rushed them to the RIMS Hospital in Kadapa. Dilip was declared brought dead by the doctors while Mohammad Basha is undergoing treatment.
Bharat Kumar Yadav was into the sheep business and had financial relationships with the deceased Dilip. Dilip owed some money to Bharat Kumar Yadav and an argument took place between them in this regard. The accused Bharat Kumar Yadav and Dilip had been at loggerheads for the last few weeks over a financial matter and heated arguments took place between them today. A few minutes later, a furious Bharat Kumar Yadav went into his house, came out with his revolver, and opened fire on Dilip. A bullet pierced through Dilip’s chest and he died while being shifted to the RIMS. After opening fire on the two persons, Bharat Kumar Yadav fled the scene. Interestingly, the CBI questioned Bharat Kumar Yadav in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. Sunil Kumar Yadav, Accused 2 in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case, is said to be a close relative of Bharat Kumar Yadav.
The police registered a case and shifted the body of Dilip to the GGH for post-mortem examination. The accused Bharat Kumar Yadav is absconding and a massive search has been launched by the police teams to arrest him.
