The Telangana Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) has successfully completed the recruitment process for 1,442 Assistant Professors in the Department of Medicine. The list of selected candidates has been released for 34 specialty departments under the Directorate of Medical Education. The selected doctors will be joining newly opened medical colleges across the state, thereby ensuring that medical services are accessible to remote areas.
Health Minister T Harish Rao congratulated the board for conducting the process in a transparent and robust manner and completing the recruitment process within a record time of just five months. The minister also appreciated the efforts of the doctors who have been selected as assistant professors in government hospitals.
The Telangana government has been taking steps to increase medical education and services in the state. With the opening of new medical colleges, opportunities for medical education have increased, and the recruitment of medical personnel is being carried out successfully. In addition to the recruitment of assistant professors, the recruitment process for 5,204 staff nurse posts has also been started.
The newly selected assistant professors are set to improve the quality of medical services provided in the newly formed medical colleges and their respective departments. They will be appointed to the medical colleges based on their merit and preferences. The candidates will receive their appointment letters soon in the newly opened medical colleges.
The minister has directed the Director of Medical Education to complete the counselling process within two weeks, provide the appointment letters, and take steps for them to join the duties. The minister expressed hope that the medical staff in the Health Department will provide quality medical services to the people of Telangana under the guidance of Chief Minister KCR. He further urged them to work with dedication and service to realise a healthy Telangana and gain the people’s approval by providing good medical services.
