On the occasion of World Hypertension Day on May 17, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Limited’s rural healthcare team successfully constructed the largest heart-shaped installation using molded leaves. The installation features messages from 30,813 doctors from rural areas of India who pledged to adhere to the right hypertension treatment protocol as guided by the India Hypertensive Control Initiative (IHCI).
Weighing nearly 200 kgs, the installation stands proudly at Dr Reddy’s campus in Bachupally, Hyderabad. The structure has achieved recognition in the Asia Book of Records for its remarkable initiative in creating awareness about hypertension management.
World Hypertension Day 2023 focuses on addressing the low awareness rates of hypertension, particularly in low to middle-income regions, and promoting accurate blood pressure measurement methods. In line with this year’s theme and its ongoing commitment to strengthening hypertension treatment protocols in India, Dr Reddy’s rural healthcare team engaged with 30,813 doctors and primary healthcare providers from rural areas to educate them about the appropriate treatment protocols for their hypertensive patients. Primary healthcare physicians play a vital role in the prevention and management of hypertension in rural India.
Ram Mohan Reddy, the adjudicator from the Asia Book of Records, presented the citation for “Largest heart-shaped structure formed using leaves” to Aditya Vasistha, Cluster Head (Commercial Operations) at Dr Reddy’s. The certified installation prominently displays the names of the doctors and their awareness messages. All participating doctors received the ‘Asia Book of Records’ certificate from Dr Reddy’s, and the company plans to keep the installation at its premises for over a year.
MV Ramana, CEO, Branded Markets (India & Emerging Markets) at Dr Reddy’s, emphasised the urgency of addressing hypertension prevalence and improving management in India.QA
