So, this time around we are expecting similar another 35,000 may be”. Officials said, “last time we got an average 26 applications, this time we are expecting 30 more applications on an average than last year”. Officials dismissed claims of keeping targets on lower-level officials on bringing application per shop.

The tender process for the new licences of liquor shops started on August 4, 2023, for two years, starting December 1, 2023.

Applications will be accepted till August 18. There will be a draw of lots to pick the successful applicants on August 21.
