69 cases registered in Vijayawada Division

The South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division, conducted Pension Adalat–2019 at the Railway Divisional Auditorium here on Thursday. A total of 69 cases were registered in Vijayawada Division, of which 61 grievances were redressed and payments to the tune of Rs 21,65,483 was made in financial cases. The remaining cases will be solved shortly. On the day of the Pension Adalat, 76 applications were registered afresh and acknowledged for redressal.

Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, was the chief guest along with D Srinivasa Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Infrastructure, and M Srikanth, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Operations.

Speaking on the occasion, Shivendra Mohan said that the objective of the Pension Adalat was mainly redressal of the grievances related to pensions, family pension, gratuity, settlement dues etc. The DRM suggested that the pensioners could approach the Personnel and Accounts Officers for redressal of their grievances, on any working day without waiting for the next Pension Adalat. Shivendra Mohan stated that Vijayawada Division had a total strength of 25,000 pensioners and only 69 grievances were received during the current Adalat, which clearly reflected the efficiency of the Division.

Recently, the pension adalat was conducted in May for the convenience of the pensioners. The DRM thanked the representatives of the Railway Pensioners’ Federation and Associations for bringing the grievances of pensioners to the notice of the administration, which needed immediate redressal. The DRM also said that Vijayawada Division was in the forefront and striving hard to redress the grievances of pensioners. The DRM and Branch officers felicitated veteran Railway Pensioners on the occasion.

M Bala Muralidhar, Sr Divisional Personnel Officer, Vijayawada, welcomed the pensioners and appraised the gathering about the importance of organising pension adalat every year. Representatives of the Pensioners Association and the All India SC/ST associations lauded the efforts of Personnel & Accounts Department in clearing the grievances, implementation of revised grade pay from Rs 4,200 to Rs 4,600 on top priority.
