Govt signs MoU with Health Care Global

The State government and Health Care Global (HCG) Enterprises Limited entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the APIIC building on Thursday.

On the occasion, Minister for Health & Family Welfare Vidadala Rajini thanked HCG for choosing Andhra Pradesh to provide consultancy services in the important area of “CancerCare”. She said that CancerCare is very important today as most of the state governments are embarking their journey towards building a resilient healthcare ecosystem.

She further said that cancer is the second leading cause of death globally, accounting for one in six deaths. The death rate is even higher among women with cancer which means women are at higher risk. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s intention is to provide cancer care treatment at the village level to reach the common people.

The Minister said, “To handle the situation, we aim to build a very comprehensive cancer care ecosystem, Our idea is to create the entire continuum of care from prevention to treatment to all and rehab should be covered. During my recent visit to Varanasi to celebrate the universal health coverage day organised by GoI, I got an opportunity to discuss one-on-one with the Union Minister for Health to consider and sanction the comprehensive cancer care centre to the State to handle the growing disease burden. We definitely need expert helping hands like HCG to work hand in hand with the state to strengthen the cancer care ecosystem in the State. ” minister said.

Health Medical and family Welfare Special Secretary GS Naveen Kumar, Director of Medical Education( DME) Dr Vinod Kumar, Commissioner Health & Family Welfare J,Nivas and representatives from HCG Dr Vishal Rao US, Regional Director (Head,Neck surgical oncology) Dean HCG center for academic research, Ravi Kiran, Cluster COO, Dr Amarnath Hematologist & BMT Specialist, Dr VSN Rao, Radiation Oncologist & Medical Head participated in MoU ceremony. Nursing Deputy director Dr B Valli, Addl DME Dr Raghavendra Rao were also present.
