7 fishermen rescued from sea

As many as seven fishermen, who ventured into the sea for fishing and struck in the rough sea, were rescued on Saturday. Officials here on Saturday said that seven fishermen including Moruga Prasad, Dasari Pabboji, Kukkala Ramesh, Garikana Krishna, Meruga Shiva and Bangina Malleswar and Madata Paul went into the sea for fishing on December 4 and got stuck in the sea as the motor of their fishing boat stopped functioning.

They had left only 20 litres of diesel and a small amount of drinking water. The fishermen informed the matter to the officials and sought help. The Special Branch police personnel got the information and they alerted the NDRF and Marine police. Singarayakonda CI Dachepalli Ranganath, SI Mohammad Fhiroj Fathima and marine police personnel swung into action to rescue the fishermen.
