9 red sanders logs seized, four smugglers arrested

YSR district police have arrested four red sander smugglers and seized 19 logs, two motorcycles, 3 mobile phones, 4 axes, and hacksaw blades.

Superintendent Of Police KKN Anburajan told the media here on Friday that on a tip-off, the police arrested smugglers near Ramachandrapuram village of Vontimitta Police Station limits and were identified as Gundala Penchalaiah, Kalapati Janu, both belonging to Railway Koduru town and Puli Lakshmikar and Guggilla Reddaiah of Rajampet in Annamayya district. During the arrest, the smugglers tried to pelt stones and attack the police personnel with axes, the SP said.

SP Anburajan appreciated police personnel for arresting the red sander smugglers. The SP said that stringent action would be taken against those involved in the felling and smuggling of red sanders and warned of invoking PD Act against those who involve in the red sander smuggling.

The Superintendent Of Police appreciated the efforts under the supervision of Additional SP (Admin) Tushar Dudi IPS, DSP Kadapa B.Venkata Sivareddy, Faction Zone DSP Chenchu Babu, Task Force Inspector Nagabhushanam, Ontimitta C.I Purushottam Raju, Reserve Sub Inspector Pothuraju, Sub Inspector Madhusudhan Rao, and the team in nabbing the smugglers besides securing the seizure of red sanders logs.
