Must read

APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana announced on Tuesday that 900 new buses have been inducted into the corporation’s fleet. Inaugurating new bus services to various stations in Vijayawada, Narayana informed the media that APSRTC had placed an order for 1,600 buses, of which 900 have already been delivered and added to the fleet. He expressed confidence in steering APSRTC towards profitability. “We are formulating an action plan in collaboration with zonal chairpersons and other officials to transform APSRTC into a turnaround organisation. Damaged bus stations will also be developed,” he asserted.
Highlighting the adoption of electric buses, Narayana said plans are being prepared for large-scale induction of electric buses. He added that a study is underway to explore a ‘free bus travel scheme for women,’ with details to be announced soon by the government. The chairman assured passengers of improved services, promising facilities on par with private bus operators.
Addressing employee concerns, he pledged to resolve issues through discussions with union leaders, prioritising their grievances. Narayana criticised the previous YSRCP government for its handling of APSRTC, stating that the organisation suffered significantly under its five-year rule, leaving many critical issues unresolved.
