Hyderabad in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said that the Congress would file a complaint against the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, with the Election Commission for stating that Hindutva supporters should vote for the BJP candidate in the Hyderabad local body MLC elections. He appealed to the Election Commission to immediately take action against Sanjay.
Addressing the media on Tuesday at the Gandhi Bhavan, Ponnam Prabhakar said that BJP leaders had incited the councillors while displaying flexes in front of the houses of the councillors belonging to the BRS and the Congress.
The Hyderabad MLC election code requires caution in dealing with religious issues, he said.
Ponnam requested the EC to take action against Sanjay as he incited voters publicly saying that they have to vote for the BJP candidate if they are Hindus.
