‘BRS developments not matching KCR’s stature’

BRS leaders in Telangana are unhappy over their party’s progress in national politics and often feel that they don’t match the stature of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. They are of the opinion that the recent developments in national politics are “not at KCR’s level.”

Except for the Khammam meeting, be it the Nanded meeting or the new people joining from Odisha or Andhra Pradesh, leaders say that it doesn’t match the stature of the CM who is regarded as the Father of Telangana.

From choosing old-timers in other states to the delay in inaugurating the secretariat, BRS cadres strongly think that nothing matches the stature of KCR.

A BRS leader acknowledging the issue said that even though the BRS, which has a slight advantage among the political parties of Telangana, is creating confusion with the party’s behaviour.

“Undoubtedly KCR is a master strategist, sometimes incomprehensible for normal minds, but there is so much uncertainty. It takes so much time for Telangana leaders to meet the Chief Minister. But many people from other states get a chance to meet him. Added to this, Industries Minister KT Rama Rao also is not sending proper indications about our national role. He is always busy,” sources said.

“It is not a continuous process, sometimes there is a peak and then little to no national political activity,” sources said. The secretariat inauguration was postponed stating that the response from the Election Commission was “not promising.”

BRS cadres are growing suspicious that KCR has redirected his attention towards state politics due to political developments here. “We were told from December last week, then Sankranthi, then KCR’s birthday. Whatever the reason, KCR is not behaving aggressively as expected. Some of them are not even sure of BRS and is confusing them. Maybe when the workshops are held we will feel confident.”
