Much before Telangana Assembly elections, a fight has started between the BRS and the Left over seat sharing.
While the BRS leadership thinks that the alliance between the Left and their party should be on the lines of the Munugode Assembly by-election.
The BRS leadership thinks that the Left parties should be given an MLC seat each but no Assembly seats. But the Left parties have decided to demand 10 Assembly seats each. On this issue, both the BRS and the Left parties have started fighting each other.
While the BRS leadership thinks that Left parties have no strength to win Assembly elections, the Left says that they may have no strength to win Assembly elections but they have the strength to defeat BRS candidates.
The Left parties are of the opinion if they bring pressure on the BRS leadership to give 10 Assembly seats each, the BRS leadership may agree to give five seats each.
The coming Assembly elections are very crucial for the BRS. The BRS leadership thinks that each and every seat is important. If they allot seats to the Left the ground-level cadres will not work with them and this will help the opposition.
Keeping this in view, the BRS leadership wants that their relationship should be on the lines of the Munugode Assembly by-election. That means without aspiring for any Assembly seat the Left should work for the victory of BRS candidates and later both the Left parties will be given an MLC seat each.
But the Left wants to have representation in both the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council. Finally, the Left parties may agree for two Assembly seats and an MLC seat to each of them.
The main opposition Congress is ready to have an alliance with the Left. The Left has indicated this to the BRS leadership and if their demand not accepted they will have to think of other options in Assembly elections.
The Left parties said that they may contest on their own or have an alliance with like-minded parties. In Telangana, the Left parties have only three options. Fight the Assembly elections on their own, or go for an alliance with the BRS or the Congress.
If the BRS leadership does not agree to their demand they may approach the Congress for an alliance. Now, the fight over seat adjustment between the BRS and the Left is going on privately between them.
The leaderships of the BRS and the left are sharing their opinions privately about seat adjustments. The internal fight between these parties over seat sharing may come out in the open in the coming days.
