six-year-old boy drowned in a pit at Road No. 45 in Jubilee Hills on Tuesday.
The boy Vivek, a student of the Government Primary School, was taken out dead after 10.30 am.
The police said that the boy was allegedly walking around the pit to pick up some sticks. The pit turned dangerous after the recent rains in the city before which it was dry.
Vivek’s father, Bheem Shanker belonging to Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, works as a security guard at a motorcycle showroom.
Fire Services team, along with locals, retrieved the boy. The victim’s body was sent to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
