The Telangana Forest Department, in a meeting held on Tuesday, decided to increase the ticket price of Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad.
In the meeting of Zoo and Parks Authority of Telangana (ZAPAT) which was chaired by Forest Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, it was decided that adults visiting the park will now have to pay Rs 70 on weekdays and Rs 80 on weekends and holidays, whereas children will have to pay Rs 45 on weekdays and Rs 55 on weekends and holidays.
The minister and the officials further discussed development of Nehru Zoological park and other zoos in the state so that they can be made more attractive and eco-friendly. In Nehru Zoo Park, it was decided that more animals will be imported. Tigers and lions will be showcased in enclosures with glass partitions and an environmental science centre will be established.
