Advisor to Government (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has said that unable to digest the growing support for Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from the people, the Opposition parties, with the support of a section of media, are trying to malign the YSRCP government’s reputation by pulling CM Jagan’s name into the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. They are trying to distort facts by spreading false news, he alleged. Terming the CBI investigation in Viveka murder ‘suspicious and one-sided’, he sought an impartial investigation and stern punishment for the culprits.
Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, Sajjala said that a section of the TDP-supporting media was spreading false propaganda. They are publishing articles and debates against courts and judges accusing them of indulging in corruption. It has become clear after the court has given its verdict in Avinash Reddy anticipatory bail case, he added.
Sajjala alleged that the Opposition TDP and its supporting media were stooping low and targeting the Chief Minister in Avinash Reddy case. The TDP friendly media are conducting trials regardless of court proceedings. If the Judge questions the CBI, the Judge is accused of having bad intentions. The Judge finally wants to withdraw from the case, said Sajjala.
The Advisor to the Government pointed out that if the verdict was in their favour, they would say that democracy had won and if the verdict was against them, they would say that democracy had been defeated. Sajjala said that the TDP supporting media was degraded to a level that cannot be found in any other State.
He further said that in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case, the investigating agency had been carrying out the probe without seeing the second angle in the case, said Sajjala.
He strongly condemned the false propaganda by the ‘yellow media’ that if CM Jagan Mohan Reddy went to Delhi, the courts would be influenced. He pointed out that initially, YS Sunita, daughter of Viveka Reddy, was their target and she was being used as a tool. After the elections are announced, the TDP friendly media will not bother about Sunitha or Viveka murder case. Sunitha is colluded with those who defeated Vivekananda Reddy.
Sajjala stated that it was inappropriate to question the system and that they were not interested in discussing the personal weaknesses of Viveka openly in public.
