Jana Sena chief K Pawan Kalyan on Monday urged the people to be mindful of the information they provide to volunteers. Speaking at a programme held here on Monday, he clarified that he is not against volunteers, but he believes it is important to limit the disclosure of unnecessary information. Despite protests taking place across the State, Pawan Kalyan expressed his dissatisfaction with the volunteer system.
Pawan Kalyan criticised the State government for exploiting the youth by offering a meagre payment of Rs 5,000. He said that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has failed to recognise the capabilities of the youth. “I don’t intend to undermine their efforts, but rather shed light on the exploitation of our young population,” he said.
The Jana Sena chief further highlighted the disparity in wages, stating that even the MGNREGA workers receive higher compensation. He expressed his concern over the exploitation and class divide prevalent in society.
Reiterating his previous allegations about missing women, Kalyan mentioned that Central Intelligence agencies are investigating the alarming number of women who have gone missing in Andhra Pradesh. He raised concerns about the sensitive information and data collected by volunteers and its potential implications. However, he clarified that not all volunteers are engaging in such practices. Pawan Kalyan also accused volunteers of intimidating individuals in certain areas and questioned the necessity of a volunteer system when the Panchayat Raj system already exists.
He emphasized that people have the right to know the purpose behind the collection of their information by volunteers.
In a stern admonishment, he urged caution regarding the volunteer system, claiming that they are paid using public funds but appear to be working for the YSRCP. He advised people to limit the information they provide to volunteers, emphasising that the volunteer system should be reined in immediately, as it is becoming detrimental.
