Sadineni Yamini Sharma, the official spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Andhra Pradesh, has voiced a resounding objection to recent statement made by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Minister of Tamil Nadu and son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. These comments, she asserted, are derogatory towards Sanatana Dharma, and she strongly urged the Supreme Court to consider taking suo motu cognisance of his statements as they can be deemed hate speech.
The BJP spokesperson pointed out that Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statements have been causing considerable unease in society by unjustly associating Sanatana Dharma with diseases such as malaria and dengue, insinuating a need to eradicate it. She expressed her concern that such words can be interpreted as an incitement to harm the 80% of Bharat’s population who follow Sanatana Dharma, effectively calling for their persecution.
Yamini Sharma, a prominent BJP leader, questioned the stance of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), a significant member of the Indian National Democratic Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) and a long-standing ally of the Indian National Congress. She asked whether the propagation of hate against Sanatana Dharma was agreed upon during the Mumbai meeting. She recalled an incident from a couple of years ago when a conference titled “Dismantling Global Hindutva” held in the United States garnered significant attention in India, despite being geographically distant. She lamented that today, a similar shock has arisen within our own country, as a conference titled “Eradicating Sanathana Dharmam” was organized in Tamil Nadu.
Sharma further raised concerns regarding the safety and preservation of temples in Tamil Nadu, considering the recent decision to place them under the management of the endowment department by the DMK government. She opined that, given Udhayanidhi Stalin’s public statements, it is plausible to conclude that the DMK government may continue to mismanage and potentially harm these temples.
In conclusion, Sadineni Yamini Sharma vehemently opposes Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments and urges the Supreme Court to take necessary action.
She also raises critical questions regarding the DMK’s stance and expresses concern for the well-being of Sanatana Dharma and its cultural heritage in Tamil Nadu.
