ITDA ensures smoother grain collection process for farmers

Must read

The Parvathipuram ITDA (Integrated Tribal Development Agency) is prioritizing a hassle-free grain collection process for farmers in the region. Project Officer C Vishnu Charan took a proactive step by inspecting the Addapuseela grain purchase center in Parvathipuram mandal on Thursday. His aim was to oversee the operations and implement measures to streamline the process for farmers.
Charan emphasized the importance of immediate grain purchase as soon as farmers thresh their produce and deliver it to the designated mills. Transparency and accountability were also key areas of focus. He mandated the use of GPS for all grain transport vehicles.
Recognizing the significance of maintaining quality standards, Charan stressed the importance of educating farmers about the optimal moisture content of the grain. This knowledge will help farmers deliver grains that meet the required specifications and fetch them better prices.
Currently, the Addapuseela grain purchase center is equipped with six thousand bags. However, anticipating a surge in demand, the center is preparing to accommodate a total of twenty thousand bags. This proactive approach ensures farmers can sell their produce without facing any storage or logistical constraints.
Charan’s inspection covered various aspects, including the condition of transport vehicles and other relevant infrastructure. The staff of the grain purchase center actively participated in the program, showcasing a collaborative effort to enhance the overall grain procurement system in the region.
