Actor Dhanush apart from Kubera is also part of a biopic film being made on the great music composer Ilaiyaraaja.
Titled Ilaiyaraaja, the movie is being directed by Arun Matheswaran, with whom Dhanush had previously collaborated for the film Captain Miller.
On Wednesday, the actor took to his social media to launch the first look poster from the film. “Honoured @ilaiyaraaja sir,” he wrote in the caption.
One of India’s best music composers, Ilaiyaraaja, will have his life and times chronicled in the film. Over the course of a fifty-year career, Ilaiyaraaja has written more than seven thousand songs for over a thousand motion pictures and given over 20,000 live performances all over the world.
In 2010 he was awarded the third-highest civilian accolade, the Padma Bhushan, and in 2018 he was granted the second-highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan.
To make the fans more excited, the music for his biopic will be composed by the musical connoisseur himself. At the launch event, Dhanush expressed his happiness that he got an opportunity to be a part of Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic. He further shared that he is waiting for a day to come when he can play Rajinikanth in the actor’s biopic which has always been his dream.
Ilaiyaraaja is being produced by Connekkt Media, PK Prime Production, and Mercuri Movies. It will be distributed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
In addition to Ilaiyaraaja, Dhanush will appear in two more films: Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, and Raayan, which he wrote and directed.
