‘TDP’s downfall imminent’

Must read

Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy, YSRCP State general secretary of Government Advisor (Public Affairs), has underscored the imminent downfall of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the upcoming 2024 elections compared to its performance in 2019. Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office on Saturday, Sajjala urged Chandrababu Naidu to focus on substantive issues affecting the people rather than resorting to theatrics and spectacle in public rallies.
Sajjala noted Chandrababu’s tendency to exert pressure on systems, recalling his confrontations with the then CEO Gopalkrishna Dwivedi. He highlighted the difference in approach, citing Jagan Mohan Reddy’s restrained conduct during the YSRCP’s tenure in opposition. Sajjala commended CM Jagan’s mature handling of governance matters.
Criticising Chandrababu for allegedly sowing fear among senior citizens regarding pension distribution, Sajjala emphasized the efficient completion of pension disbursements, reaching 93% within two days.
He attributed delays to TDP’s obstructionism rather than its effectiveness in halting the process. Sajjala also accused certain individuals aligned with Chandrababu of propagating misinformation before the pension distribution began.
Regarding employment, Sajjala refuted opposition claims of YSRCP’s failure to generate jobs, pointing to the employment of 1.30 lakh secretariat employees. He projected a swift completion of pension distribution, anticipating 100% disbursement by the second day with the aid of volunteers.
Addressing the BJP, Sajjala criticised Purandeswari’s purported influence on Chandrababu’s agenda, particularly her recent letter calling for the removal of state officers. He alleged her allegiance to Chandrababu, even during her tenure with the Congress, citing her historical association with Chandrababu in undermining NTR.
Regarding Janasena, Sajjala downplayed the party’s impact, except for Pawan Kalyan, suggesting that many Janasena candidates have ties to the TDP, rendering Janasena a mere front for the latter.
In addition, Sajjala contested APCC president YS Sharmila’s political narrative, accusing her of echoing Chandrababu’s agenda rather than pursuing her own. He raised questions about her sudden departure from Telangana, the status of her promises to the Telangana populace, and the scripted nature of her rhetoric. Sajjala also questioned the timing of her references to YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder during elections, given her silence on the matter for the past four years.
