Former Minister and Machilipatnam MLA Perni Venkatramaiah, also known as Nani, has criticised former IAS officer Dr PV Ramesh for connecting his personal land issue with the Land Titling Act.
In response to PV Ramesh’s comments, Nani addressed the media at the YSRCP Central Office in Tadepalli on Monday. He accused Dr PV Ramesh of acting under the direction of former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Nani stated that Ramesh was intentionally leveling allegations against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Dr PV Ramesh, a former IAS officer, belongs to Vinnakota village in Gudlavalleru mandal of Krishna district. His father, Subba Rao, owned agricultural land in the same village. Ramesh has accused the State government of not transferring the land title from his father’s name to his after his father’s demise.
Nani flayed Dr Ramesh’s comments that his agriculture land mutation was not happening because of the Land Titling Act. He said Dr Ramesh had held senior positions in the government, yet he made such comments against Chief Minister Jagan.
Nani stated that 25 people had purchased about 70 acres of land in Vinnakota village, dug a tank, and later leased it to others. However, a dispute between Dr PV Ramesh and another person, Galanki Nagendra, resulted in several court cases.
The Joint Collector and the RDO conducted a joint inquiry in January, and as per the authorities’ directions, both Ramesh and Nagendra were required to be present with the original documents.
However, Dr PV Ramesh sent his assignee with Xerox copies, which was not acceptable. The officials asserted that they should come with originals, but Ramesh failed to do so.
Nani clarified that the district administration had been trying to resolve this dispute for the past three months. The authorities dried up the tank by pumping water out of it to conduct a survey. They informed Dr Ramesh that they would survey after the election was over.
However, Ramesh made false allegations against the government and Chief Minister Jagan, which Nani criticised. He is making these comments with the support of Chandrababu Naidu, he alleged.
