Former minister Ambati Rambabu has demanded that details of the recent discussions between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy be made public.
Rambabu questioned the secrecy surrounding the meeting between the two leaders. He revealed that the Telangana government has proposed the return of seven mandals to Telangana and has requested a share in the revenue from Tirumala, as well as access to ports and Krishna waters. Rambabu accused Chandrababu of preparing to commit severe injustices against the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking at the party’s central office on Monday, Rambabu highlighted that a decade has passed since the bifurcation of the state, yet many issues remain unresolved. He criticised Chandrababu Naidu for failing to leverage the opportunity presented by the inclusion of Hyderabad as the joint capital for ten years, during his five-year tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Rambabu condemned Naidu for fleeing Hyderabad and betraying the people of Andhra Pradesh after being implicated in the Cash-for-Vote case. He accused Naidu of abandoning the transfer of properties under Schedules 9 and 10 of the Reorganisation Act and moving to the newly formed Andhra Pradesh without any negotiations.
He praised former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for resolving issues related to the Polavaram project with Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Rambabu blamed Chandrababu for the injustices faced by the people of Andhra Pradesh concerning the Polavaram project, which is a national initiative. He asserted that it was YS Jagan who reclaimed Andhra Pradesh’s share of the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir during his administration. Rambabu pledged that if Naidu’s promises remain unfulfilled, YS Jagan will stand as the voice of the common man and fight for the rights of the state’s people.
