The Sai Rajesh directorial Baby starring Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Viraj Ashwin will hit the theaters tomorrow (July 14). The film is produced by SKN under the banner of Mass Movie Makers. The film has already created a lot of buzz, and its teaser, trailer, and songs have been like an extra bonanza. On one hand, while the makers are busy promoting the film in the most innovative ways, the lead actor, Anand Deverakonda, speaks to the media here and shares some insights about working in the project.

Looking at his previous projects, the Pushpaka Vimanam actor has played the boy next door characters. However, this time he says, “For the first time we are coming with a film that will impress all sections of the audience. The paid premiere shows are also getting house full. Baby is my best project to date in my journey. I miss the sets and shooting. Sai Rajesh anna gave me the confidence to play this role.”

Without a doubt, love not only comes with happiness, but also the pain. With Baby, one will get to see all these emotions, which Anand feels will make the audience feel connected. He also enthuses that the trailer of Baby only introduces the characters, and not the actual story or plot of the film. “More than the emotions that one gets to see in the trailer, people will enjoy watching it in the theater. First love is always a beautiful feeling, and it is born of superficial beauty. But slowly, they learn the meaning of love. We have shown that well in this movie,” he adds. He further recalls, “I studied in a boys boarding school. After coming out, it took two years to talk to the girls. First love memories lasts forever either its a successful or failure love story.”

Love stories and romance is one of the most made genres in the Indian film industry. But what different are we gonna see in Baby? Well, he sheds some light sharing, “In this movie, love is shown from a different perspective as Sai Rajesh. The writing is so fresh and new. The way he showed and said love from his perspective is very new. Music is important for him to make the audience feel every emotion. Vijay Bulganin gave an excellent score and music.”

If you feel the film is going to be somewhat similar to Prema Desam, the Highway actor straightaway denies, as he says, “Prema Desam movie has nothing to do with Baby movie. It will be very new. Feel wise, it will be in 7/G Brindhavan colony style.”

Arjun Reddy has become a pop culture reference for everyone. And so Anand is confident that dialogues in Baby will definitely become very famous. Well if you wonder why the film has been titled Baby, there is a scene, he says, that will explain why the film has been titled as such.

“Sai Rajesh Anna said that there are some challenges when the story is told. He narrated the story and it was brilliant. Every scene and every expression is explained. Bal Reddy and Vijay Bulganin also got the best work for this reason,” he states adding, “I didn’t tried hard to look like a school kid. But I had to struggle during dubbing. I had to lower my voice to sound like a child. Had to bring that innocence in the voice.” Infact, for the film, he also reveals, “ I learned to drive an auto for this role.”

Sharing his camaraderie with the female lead he says, “Vaishnavi Chaitanya acted brilliantly. She will grow up to be a good actress in Telugu. We used to discuss how to do the scenes and rehearse it. I really enjoyed acting with her. At such a young age, playing such a good role and acting so well is not a common thing.”

Being the brother of the industries one of the talented actors, one might always wonder Vijay Deverakonda has a big hand in his projects, or selecting the projects. But let us tell you, its a straight ‘No’. Though Anand does share about what film he’s going to do or the genre, the director he’s gonna work with his ‘Anna’, at the end its the Dorasani actor who takes the call for doing or not doing the project. His father or Vijay, are never apart of him deciding the projects.

Anand, who has offlate not had any theatrical hit so far, feels that Bbay is surely going to be a theatrical hit, seeing the buzz around. He even revealed that he had already heard the story before Middle Class Melodies.

Dismissing the rumours around Anand sending the trailer to Vijay, and him tweeting about it, he clarifies, “I did not send the trailer to Vijay. He saw and felt something and tweeted about the film. I feel proud that I am going to get a hit. Vijay said that it feels like a first theatrical release for me. He complimented me, saying that you are doing a good movie and you are acting well.”

Anand, who on the workfront, is shooting for a crime genre titled Gham Ganesha, and has also performed action sequences signs off sharing, “SKN told me that he will make a good film with me during Taxiwala. As said, they gave a good movie. The film was made with faith in the content. The climax of this movie is going to be amazing. Sometimes the length of the film does not match the work. Even a two-hour movie can be boring. Even a three-hour movie can be boring. Length is not a problem if you make the audience feel and connect to the characters. Every role is very important. That’s why the length is a bit longer.”
