Governor Biswabusan Harichandan has said that India was known in the olden days for its excellence in the business and trade of spices, handicrafts, textiles, handicrafts etc. and today it is recognised as a fast-growing nation in the world and looked at as the next destination of a developed economy.

Participating as chief guest at the National Business Excellence Awards presentation programme and inauguration of the International Business Seminar-2023, organised by Global India Business Forum here on Saturday, the Governor said that the Central government had introduced several programmes to make the country self-reliant in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, like Make in India, Digital India, Start-up India, Skill India etc. and promoting the MSME sector by promoting its growth and development with the active involvement of the State governments. The National Logistics Policy announced by the government, is expected to propel the Indian business sector to a greater height, by facilitating quick export of Indian goods, said the Governor.

He further said that Andhra Pradesh is known as the ‘Rice Bowl of India’ and growth of the State is mainly driven by agriculture, industry, and service sectors and the State is a logistics hub on the eastern coast with the second-longest coastline of 974 KMs and offers plenty of new business opportunities with six ports, six airports, over 123,000 KM of road network and 2,600 km of the rail network, and an uninterrupted power supply.

He said that the State stood first in the Ease of Doing Business rankings for the year 2020-21, which is a proof of the business-friendly environment offered by the State and said that the Global India Business Forum can promote the industrial investment in the State by showcasing business opportunities available to prospective investors from across borders.

Earlier, Governor Harichandan presented mementoes to winners of the National Award for Business Excellence-2023. Arunkoemar Hardien, Ambassador of the Republic of Suriname, Jacob, Trade & Industry Minister, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal, Kamlesh Prakash, High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji, have attended the International Business Seminar-2023, as Guests of Honour. Dr Jitendra Joshi, Global President, Global India Business Forum, and other delegates attended the programme.
