The Telugu States’ gymnasts have bagged medals at the third Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) National Sports Meet being conducted at six venues in both NTR and Guntur districts.

Basketball, Hockey, Boxing and Football matches were conducted at the Andhra Loyola College. Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis, Gymnastics, Wrestling and Athletics are being conducted at the Acharya Nagarjuna University.

In boys’ under-14 Floor Exercise category, Andhra Pradesh’s V Lakshman Reddy won the gold medal while in the girls’ section, Telangana’s B Amulya and Andhra Pradesh’s K Tejaswini bagged gold and silver medals, respectively. Gymnastics competitions were held on the Acharya Nagarjuna University premises on Sunday. In the girls’ under-19 category, Telangana’s A Vaishnavi and AP’s P Savitri secured the first and second places, and in the boys’ category, AP’s J Chiranjeevi secured second place.

Girls: Telangana beat Karnataka, 8-6, Uttar Pradesh beat Jharkhand, 8-4, Odisha beat Tripura, 12-9, Chhattisgarh beat Gujarath, 10-6, Andhra Pradesh beat Madhya Pradesh, 8-5, Maharashtra beat Himachal Pradesh, 16-2.

Uttarakhand, Sikkim in TT finals
In Table Tennis singles in the boys’ under-14 category, Uttarakhand and Sikkim have entered the finals. In the semi-final matches, Uttarakhand’s Suryamsh Chowhan beat Gujarat’s RJk Mukesh Bhai, 11-7, 10-12, 11-9, 11-9, and in the second semi-final match, Sikkim TT player Spandan Limbu beat Chhattisgharh’s Kamalesh Sidar, 11-8, 11-6, 11-2.
Also, in the girls’ section, Anitha (Karnataka) beat Korra Dipika (Andhra Pradesh), 11-4, 11-5, 14-12, Rajit Tejalben Narendra Kumar (Gujarat) beat Sumitra Anvay (Madhya Pradesh), 11-4, 11-6, 11-7
In the boys’ under-19 category, Amith Naste (Madhya Pradesh) beat Monal Bhushan (Himachal Pradesh), 11-7, 5-11, 8-11, 12-10, 13-11, and Sivlal (Rajasthan) beat Ujen Tamang (Sikkim), 11-5, 11-8, 11-5. While in the girls’ section, SGB Ranjith Bhai (Gurajat) beat Nimisha Chouhan (Uttarakhand), 11-5, 14-12, 11-7

AP archer Basay Preeti clinches gold
Andhra Pradesh under-14 archer Basay Preeti has won the gold medal in the 30 m competition and she secured the third place in the 20 m category. However, Rajasthan archers excelled in all events. Also, in the group-4 girls’ category Telangana, Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh stood in the first three places, respectively.
