Be methodical to avoid stress, scribes told

Assuring help to resolve their issues, AP Government Advisor (Communications) GVD Krishna Mohan has exhorted the journalists to report unbiased news.

A meeting was held at the Press Club, organised by the Press Academy, to create awareness among journalists on how to get rid of stress.

Speaking on the occasion, Press Academy Chairman Kommineni Srinivasa Rao said that if a news item is presented with accuracy and sincerity, the reporter could get rid of stress with the satisfaction of presenting a good news item. He said that journalists have to face stress in various forms and he opined that there is a difference between the pressure of truth-filled news and the pressure of news full of falsehoods.

GVD Krishna Murthy said that journalism is a vital profession and the journalist in their profession has to feel stress and pressure in various forms. Such awareness meetings would be greatly helpful to the journalists, he said.

Renowned psychiatrist Indla Rama Subba Reddy said that various issues including heavy work without a time limit, deadlines to send news items, and pressure from the editor cause the journalists to feel stress.

He said that journalists feel internal stress and external stress and he had given some techniques and methods to be followed by the journalists to get rid of stress. Rama Subba Reddy asked the journalists to take care of their personal health while doing justice to their profession. Later he allayed the doubts of journalists.

Senior journalist Radha Reddy, IJU national vice-president Ambati Anjaneyulu, press club president Nimmaraju Chalapathi Rao, APUWJ Krishna Urban president Chava Ravi, APUWJ vice-president J Jayaraj and senior Journalist Sk. Babu were among those who were present.
