Bhavani Deekshala Viramana: Traffic curbs in Vijayawada

In view of the relinquishment of Bhavani Deekshalu at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, atop the Indrakeeladri from December 15 to 20, the NTR Vijayawada Police authorities imposed traffic diversions in the district. Heavy and medium transport vehicles should not enter the city during the Bhavani Deekshala Viramana, said NTR Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata in a press release here on Wednesday.

He said that city police have taken all steps for the benefit of passengers, those who travel via Vijayawada and city people, while they could not face any traffic problems with the heavy and medium transport vehicles. Also, parking facilities have been provided for the long-distance devotees, he said. These traffic restrictions should be in force from midnight of December 14 to midnight of December 20, he added.

He further said the RTC buses from Vijayawada to Jaggaiahpet, Hyderabad and Tiruvuru would be diverted. RTC buses from Pandit Nehru Bus Station passing via Varadhi Junction, Benz Circle, New Flyover, Ramavarappadu Junction, Inner Ring Road, KV Kandrika Junction, Paipula Road Junction, YV Rao Estate Circle, CVR Flyover, Kabela centre, Urmilanagar, Atkinson high school, Gollapudi bypass road, and Gollapudi Y junction and will be joined into the Hyderabad highway, he said. Also, RTC buses from Hyderabad to Vijayawada should come into the city via Gollapudi Y Junction, Swathi Centre. Kanakadurga Flyover, Rajiv Gandhi Park and reach the PNBS, he added.

Meanwhile, the city buses from City Bus Terminal to Milk Project, YSR Colony, Bhavanipuram, and Ibrahimpatnam buses should go via PNBS, PCR junction, RTC Y Junction, Hotel Swarna Palace, Hanumanpet, Eluru Locks, GS Raju Road, Seethammapeta Gate, Prabhas College, Budameru Bridge, Dabakotlu, Andhra Prabha Colony, Nandamuri Nagar, Inner Ring Road, YV Rao Estate, and CVR Flyover, and go to the destinations. he said. However, City buses from Ibrahimpatnam, Milk Project, YSR Colony to PNBS would come via Gollapudi Y Junction, Swathi junction, Kanakadurga Flyover, Rajiv Gandhi Park, and reach the PNBS, he said.

However, the other vehicles travelling in the city should travel on either side of Kanakadurga Flyover or Chittinagar Tunnel and go to Bhavanipuram, he said. He made it clear that no vehicles would be allowed between Kummaripalem to Ghat Road. Similarly, there would not allow any vehicles between Vijayawada to Tadepalli via Prakasam Barrage, he said. But, employees and those who wish to go to Andhra Pradesh High Court Secretariat should travel via Kanakadurga Varadhi, he added.

Bus parking
Police Commissioner Kanti Rana said that Bhavanees and devotees who come in buses from the side of Hyderabad should travel via Gollapudi Y junction, Swathi Junction and later take a right turn and park their vehicles at the Punnami ghat. Similarly, devotee buses from the Visakhapatnam side should travel via Ramavarappadu Ring, Inner Ring Road, Paula Road, YV Rao Estate, CVR flyover, Sitara junction and reach the Soma Company’s vacant land near RTC workshop and park their vehicles, he said.

Also, devotee buses from the side of Guntur should pass via Kanakadurga Varadhi, RTC in the gate, Kanakadurga Flyover, Swathi junction, and reached the Subbarayudu gari vacant land near Bhavanipuram Dargah and park their vehicles, he added. While devotees after completion of relinquishment of Bhavani Deekshalu and taking the Durga darshan should go to parking areas for the return trip, he said.
