Prof Bidyadhar Subudhi took over as a new Director of NIT Warangal. He took charge from Prof NV Ramana Rao in the presence of S Govardhan Rao, Registrar, NIT Warangal.
The newly appointed Director said he aimed to improve research and innovation with the help of faculty and students to make the NIT Warangal campus the first choice. He said that he would want NIT Warangal to focus on research that can solve societal problems, adapt to National Education Policy, and offer multidisciplinary courses. His vision is to see NIT Warangal to be one of the best research contributors in the nation. Later in the evening, he addressed the faculty and staff of the institute and said that we should all work hard in making NIT Warangal one of the best institutions in the country.
Before joining IIT Goa as Professor (HAG), he worked as a professor of Electrical Engineering at NIT Rourkela for 13 years. He was a visiting professor in Bangkok and Canada. His research interests are system and control theory, and control applications to power systems.
He pursued his B.Tech from NIT Rourkela and M.Tech from IIT Delhi in the Department of Electrical Engineering. He pursued his PhD in the area of Control Systems from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
