Technical Advisory Committee approves 3 projects
The CWC re-reviewed all the objections raised by Andhra Pradesh and sent them to the Advisory Committee, recommending that techno-economic clearance can be given to the three projects.

Three irrigation projects connected to Telangana have been approved by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) at its meeting held on Tuesday at the Shrama Shakti Bhavan Committee Hall under the chairmanship of Union Water and Power Ministry Secretary Pankaj Kumar.
The Mukteswara (Chinna Kaleswaram) Lift Scheme in Bhupalapalli District, the Chanaka Korata Barrage in Adilabad and the Chautupalli Hanumantha Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme in Nizamabad were approved.
The minutes of the Advisory Committee meeting regarding the approval of these projects will be issued soon.In the gazette notification issued by the central government in July 2021, these three projects were mentioned as unapproved projects. In this context, the Telangana government submitted DPRs of these projects to the Central Water Society and the Godavari Board in September 2021.
The directorates of the Central Water Corporation thoroughly examined the DPRs and approved them. After that, according to the flow chart approved by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti regarding the examination of DPRs, the projects were sent for examination by the Godavari Board.
The chart was discussed at the 13th board meeting held in April 2022. Even though the Andhra Pradesh government objected, the board again sent its remarks to the Central Water Commission. The CWC re-reviewed all the objections raised by Andhra Pradesh and sent them to the Advisory Committee, recommending that techno-economic clearance can be given to the three projects.
These three projects were discussed in detail at the TAC meeting held on Monday. Telangana government representatives answered all the questions asked by the members.
Chairman Pankaj Kumar said that he is satisfied with the answers and will approve the three projects. He said that the minutes will be issued soon.
For Mukteshwara Scheme on the Penganga river, the storage capacity is 0.83 TMC and water utilisation by Telangana will be 1.20 TMC.Additional Secretary, Ministry of Water Power Debashree Mukherjee, Chairman Central Jal Sangam Shri RK Gupta, Members Chandrasekhara Iyer, Rushwinder Vora,Central Jal Sangam Chief Engineers, Paithankar, BP Pandey, Directors of various departments, representatives of Finance, Agriculture and Energy Ministries attended the meeting.
On behalf of Telangana, Special Chief Secretary Rajat Kumar, Engineers-in-Chief C. Muralidhar, N. Venkateswarlu (Ramagundam), Chief Engineers Srinivas (Adilabad), Madhusudhan (Nizamabad), and CNOSD Sridhar Rao Desh Pandey participated in the meeting.
