State secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM), V Srinivasa Rao, on Tuesday, led a roadshow via an open-top jeep and bike rally from Nunna to Ambapuram in the NTR district. The event saw participation from leaders and cadres of the Congress and CPM.
The rally commenced from the Swapna function hall at Nunna and traversed through Pathapadu, P Nainavaram, concluding at Ambapuram. Throughout the roadshow, CPM state secretary V Srinivasa Rao addressed the public gathered at various villages.
Addressing the audience, he advocated for the support to Gollu Krishna, the Congress Party’s MP candidate, and Kallam Venkateswara Rao, the CPM’s MLA candidate. He emphasised the collaborative efforts of the India Bloc parties, comprising the Congress Party, CPI, and CPM, towards the state’s development, underscoring their recently announced election manifesto.
He levied serious accusations against both the ruling YSRCP and the opposition TDP, accusing them of neglecting the State’s development. Rao criticized their failure to secure Special Category Status, implement bifurcation assurances, and address the backwardness of districts in Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema.
Additionally, he scrutinised the manifestoes of the YSRCP and TDP-JSP-BJP alliance, highlighting their lack of focus on State development. Rao lamented the absence of significant progress during the tenures of TDP and YSRCP, particularly citing the stalled Polavaram Project and the plight of displaced individuals.
Rao further alleged collusion between the TDP and the BJP-led NDA, as well as the YSRCP’s support for the same alliance at the Centre, which he criticized for neglecting the state’s interests. He urged voters to support candidates from the India bloc.
Moreover, he criticized both the YSRCP and TDP for overlooking the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural products and failing to address issues concerning labourers, employment, and welfare schemes. Rao contended that both parties were primarily focused on seizing the Chief Minister’s chair without concrete plans for the state’s development, including initiatives such as the Polavaram Project construction and the development of the capital Amaravati.
Present at the roadshow were Gollu Krishna, the Congress Party candidate for Machilipatnam Parliamentary Constituency, Kallam Venkateswara Rao, the CPM candidate for Gannavaram assembly constituency, along with CPM leaders Y Narasimha Rao, M Haribabu, M Anjaneyulu, and Congress party leaders Narayana, Naga Babu, among others.
