Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president YS Sharmila Reddy urged the ruling YSRCP government to pass two crucial resolutions during the ongoing Budget sessions: the Special Category Status and the Polavaram Project, emphasising them as essential rights of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Once again, she underscored the significance of the Special Category Status for the State.
Arriving at Gannavaram Airport on Wednesday, APCC Chief YS Sharmila Reddy, accompanied by former Rajya Sabha Member KVP Ramachandra Rao, received a warm welcome from former APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, Working President Sunkara Padma Sri, and Vijayawada City President Naraharsetty Narasimha Rao. Sharmila arrived at the airport to participate in a public meeting in Bapatla.
Addressing the media at the airport, the APCC chief criticised former CM N Chandrababu Naidu and current CM Jagan Mohan Reddy for neglecting the development of Andhra Pradesh. She accused CM Jagan and TDP Supremo N Chandrababu Naidu of disregarding the interests of the state and its people. She stated that she had written letters to both YS Jagan and Chandrababu Naidu for the sake of the state and to pass the two critical resolutions.
Furthermore, she alleged that both leaders had prioritized their interests by aligning with the BJP, neglecting the welfare of the people. She asserted that neither leader had the best interests of the people of Andhra Pradesh in mind. She claimed that CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was focused on maintaining his position as CM for business purposes, while N Chandrababu Naidu was striving to regain the CM chair.
Meanwhile, Sharmila Reddy demanded that the government present a resolution to the President of India regarding the AP Special Category Status and the Polavaram project after thorough discussions in the assembly. She emphasized that achieving Special Category Status was only possible through Congress and urged the people of the state to reject the BJP alliance parties, including YSRCP, TDP, and Janasena.
Addressing her security concerns, APCC chief Sharmila Reddy emphasized the need for the government to provide her with protection as she campaigns across the state.
