After the film Baapu, actor Brahmaji is receiving a stream of lead and pivotal roles. He’s now headlining a new investigative thriller, marking the directorial debut of Prasanna Kumar Nani. The film was officially launched on Monday, with shooting scheduled to begin next month.
“After a long time, I’m playing a very different character. It’s an investigative story where I portray a writer based in a police station,” said Brahmaji. The plot follows a case he begins investigating just before his retirement.
Though the director is a newcomer, Brahmaji shared that he was given a fully bound script and found the story quite compelling. The team plans to shoot in live locations around Amalapuram, returning in August during the monsoon to capture rain sequences essential to the plot.
“The director approached me after watching Baapu. These days, many small films are doing well because of strong content,” Brahmaji added. The film is produced by Srinivas Kalidindi. Meanwhile, Brahmaji is also set to join the shoots of Lenin with Akhil Akkineni and a project with Sree Vishnu.
