Bring all dropouts back to school: CS to officials

Chief Secretary Sameer Sharma along with CCLA Commissioner Sai Prasad, secretaries and senior officers of various departments reviewed the progress of various welfare and development works being implemented by the state government through a Video Conference with the collectors of all districts on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary directed the authorities of the Education department to take steps towards enrolling all the out-of-school children in the schools by reviewing the enrolment and drop-out numbers of the students in the schools.

Similarly, towards the achievement of sustainable development goals, volunteers, Asha workers and ANM’s should pay special attention and take special measures on anaemia and malnutrition as per the specified 8 indicators and 4 parameters, the Chief Secretary told the district administration.

The officials of the Medical and Women & Child Welfare Department should take measures to provide nutritious food and iron tablets to pregnant women, infants and adolescent girls to reduce anaemia, the CS directed them.

Representations received in ‘Spandana’ progeramme should be resolved in a timely manner, he instructed the officials and ordered the District Collector and Joint Collector to speed up the construction of houses in the layouts. CCLA Commissioner Sai Prasad reviewed with the Collectors on re-survey and mutations related to Jagananna’s permanent land rights.

Afterwards, Kona Sashidhar, Commissioner of the State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, reviewed the issues of Swamitva, Swachh Sankalpam, Employment Guarantee Scheme and Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed them to take steps to ensure that the Jagananna Swachh Sankalpam programme, brought to provide better sanitation to the rural people, is firmly implemented.
