A BRS leader and husband of a municipal councillor, identified as Pogula Laxmirajam, was murdered at a tea stall near the Municipal office at Korutla on Tuesday.
According to police, two unknown assailants attacked Laxmirajyam (45) while he was drinking tea at the tea stall. The incident happened on Tuesday morning.
He suffered life-threatening injuries in the attack by the two assailants. The local people shifted him to hospital. He was later shifted to Government Hospital in Karimnagar where he died.
The motive behind the murder is not yet clear.
