In yet another shocking incident of student suicide, a 17-year Pre-University Course first-year student was found hanging in his hostel room at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT) in Basar on Tuesday.
The incident triggered tension with the Congress activists led by Srihari Rao staged a protest at the District Government Hospital with the police refusing permission to see the body of the student. There was jostling and pushing between the police and the Congress activists.
The deceased was identified as Jadav Bablu. He hailed from Nagapur village under Narayankhed in Sangareddy district.
According to sources, the student was found hanging from the ceiling in his room. The authorities shifted him to hospital upon being alerted by students. He was pronounced brought dead at hospital.The authorities claimed that Bablu, who joined the institution recently, felt homesick and did not mingle much with his classmates.
It may be recalled that a student, named Vadla Deepika, was found hanging in a washroom on campus early. Earlier too, there was another incident of suicide and in another incident, a girl fell off the fourth floor of the hostel building.
