With auspicious days ahead, BRS leaders think that their party’s list of candidates will come out on Friday, in the month of Sravanam.
A few days ago Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, IT Minister KT Rama Rao and Health Minister Harish Rao reportedly brainstormed about BRS candidates. This created a buzz in BRS circles that KCR is fully prepared for elections and that he has finished selecting candidates.
BRS sources said that this is obvious. The month of Sravanam starts on August 17 and 18 is the first Friday of Sravanam which is considered auspicious.
BRS leaders think that KCR is likely to announce the first list of candidates on Friday or on September 6. In fact, KCR, who went for early elections in 2018, released the first list with 105 candidates on September 7.
Tickets were given to all sitting MLAs except a few. BRS cadres think that KCR is planning the same strategy this time too.
It is estimated that 105 names will be announced in the first list as KCR’s lucky number is ‘6.’ Surveys have shown that there is dissatisfaction with sitting MLAs as they have been in power for 10 years.
Sources said that even though there is anti-incumbency, candidates will be decided based on the strength of opposition candidates.
During public meetings, KCR and Ministers KTR and Harish Rao and MLC Kavitha have announced sitting MLAs will be candidates and asked people to make them win with a huge majority.
In constituencies where there is a rebel problem, the list will be released late. All parties think that Assembly elections are likely to be held in the last week of October or in the first week of November.
