Former Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar met Union Minister of Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday at his New Delhi office. Prabhakar brought to the Union Minister’s attention the problems faced by the people of Uppal due to the delay in the construction of the Uppal elevated corridor.
Prabhakar brought to the attention of Gadkari the fact that the TS government is neglecting work on the Uppal elevated corridor. He also informed Gadkari that people were facing a lot of problems due to Gayatri Constructions.
The Union Minister was surprised to know that the TS government had paid three types of compensation to building owners while acquiring land.
In Telangana, many roads are being constructed with Central funds at a fast pace, but the state government is refusing to fund the Uppal elevated corridor and GHMC officials are also delaying the laying of pipelines and electric poles.
Responding on the matter, the Union Minister directed the NH Chief Engineer to talk to Telangana government officials and ensure that works are carried out on a war footing.
