Call to use CNG to protect environment

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) Vijayawada Regional Manager P Ravi Sankar has said that Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is the solution to protect the environment. “HPCL aims to protect the environment from pollution,” he said.

HPCL and the Mega City Gas Distribution Private Limited (Meil) jointly set up the CNG filling station in Sri Sai Roadways at Jupudi of Ibrahimpatnam mandal near Vijayawada. Ravi Sankar inaugurated the fifth CNG filling station on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Sankar said that four CNG filling stations were currently functioning in the district. He added that vehicle owners could use CNG instead of fuel to protect the environment from pollution.

He further said that HPCL was ready to open more CNG centres in the State. Also, he said that his company was creating awareness programmes for vehicle owners on the need to protect the environment.

HPCL Vijayawada General Manager T Rajesh, Deputy General Managers Anand Raje, B Ravindra, filling station dealer Padma Rao, Meil representative Ravi Kiran, area sales manager Vishnu Vardhan and Ganesh Transport chairman VV Ramparasad attended the function.
