Minister for Water Resources Nimmala Ramanaidu has said that 111 tonnes of fodder is being distributed to the flood-affected farmers in the district. The Minister distributed 10 tonnes of fodder worth Rs 3 lakh to the flood-affected farmers at Abbirajupalem village in Yelamanchili mandal.
The minister listened to the problems of the farmers and assured them of extending all required help to them. Speaking on the occasion the Minister said: “There are 4,202 cattle in the district for which 111 tonnes of fodder, worth Rs 17.53 lakh, is being distributed to 1,475 farmers.” Minister Ramanaidu reiterated that Chandrababu Naidu’s headed government is a pro-farmer government and committed to protecting their interests, adding that the Jagan Mohan Reddy-headed regime did not do anything for the farmers. Consequently, the farmers faced a crisis as they were unable to raise their crops due to huge losses, he flayed.
The Minister alleged that Jagan Reddy headed the previous government had put the state into debt and mortgaged the precious lands of the government. AP had become debt-ridden under the erstwhile regime, he lamented.
He highlighted that on the first day of the month, a total of Rs 8,300 crore was disbursed as the salaries of government employees and pensions of retired government employees. “The Chandrababu Naidu headed government has disbursed social security pensions to the old aged people, widows, differently-abled people and other eligible people on one day. Unable to digest the achievement of the Naidu-led government, false news and lies are being spread by the Jagan Mohan Reddy-owned Sakshi daily,” the Minister lambasted.
The Minister reiterated that essential commodities including rice, oil and vegetables were distributed to the flood victims and Rs 3000 financial help was also extended. The fodder is also being distributed for the cattle in the flood-hit mandals, he stated.
