A case has been registered against Minister for Water Resources Ambati Rambabu at the Sattenapalli police station in connection with the Sankranti festival lucky draw case. The police registered the case as per the orders of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, under the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes Prohibition Act.
Jana Sena leaders had lodged a complaint alleging that YSRC leaders, led by Minister Ambati Rambabu, were selling tickets in Sattenapalli under the name of Sankranti Lucky Draw. Jana Sena Palnadu district president Gade Venkateswara Rao later filed a petition in the Guntur court as the police did not register a case. The court, which conducted an inquiry into the matter, directed the police to immediately register a case against Minister Rambabu and conduct an investigation. The police have started the investigation.
